Swamp bombs

Developments

I thought I could use the cans as vertical growing supports.

I learned the hard way that I had to turn them upside down in order to drain the excess water through the little holes in the stopper.

Despite watering and aerating the soil, the roots of the tomatoes never took root.

On the contrary, my plants were suffocating to the point of yellowing, drying out and dying.

When I threw out the dry feet and moved the earth. The water had stagnated so much in the centre of the canister that the earth lacked oxygen and gave off a boggy smell.

I can understand why my tomato plants never felt at home.
